Successful kiddo sewing!

Bug wanted to be Wonder Woman again for Halloween. This year, I decided to make it.

The boots (shoe covers) were the hardest, mainly because of the detail. I used a fusible fleece to give support, which worked out really well. They are fully lined, as she is most whiny and rejecting if anything is slightly scratchy. I edged stitched to keep the lining out of the way and use the turned under fleece to add a bit more stiffness. The stripes have separate strips of fleece to give them a bit of body and add a bit more stiffness.

If you can't tell I was scarred by the boots that came with last year's costume. No stiffing what so ever. I had to safety pin them to her tights to keep them up. So stiffening, stiffening stiffing was the name of the game. Enough to stand upright in their shimmery glory.

No floppies here!.

Presented the finished dress, she said she hated it. Convinced her to at least try it on, and she gleefully tells me, "I'm going to wear it all day!"

Unfortunately the tulle did not last the length of her birthday party. Too much crawling around inside play structures Thankfully it is only the front panel, which should be easy to replace.

Learned the hard way why girls dresses are so short.
