Plan B

Took me several days to get over but I have accepted the fate of the 10 yards of windowpane silk organza at my hands with a pot of die. Dye. I mean dye. I have no stomach to try to correct the affair in time for the picnic. Though a bit of luck helped me get passed it.

Hubby is an Army vet with a disability rating. Years ago when he was granted that rating the VA screwed up an marked him a single, saying we were separated (news to both of us!). Letter sent in telling the VA their mistake. A prompt turn around time of 6 years, and 7 years of back pay lands in our account. The monthly value isn't huge but it adds up.

So know what that means? Yep. Fabric.

In the name of expediency I am buying sheer white figured cotton, as I already have my pattern. DID not want another white dress (last year's sole project was a white Regency gown) as I will be making my sister's wedding gown later this year. For that reason alone I will be lining the dress with lavender. As light as I can make it, but this will not be a plain white dress.

Here is the sketch I made for the previous dress. It won't change much, only I will be adding as many rows of ruffles to the hem as time and fabric will allow. Have to have something interesting on a boring white dress. Edging foot and ruffler, how I love thee.
