My sister was forced to evacuate her house due to the Butte Fire last week. Flames as she leaving. Got the dog but had to leave her cats.
Was nearly a week before they knew if their house was ok. And if their cats made it. And in the meantime the wedding was on hold until they knew if their house would make it.
Which means I made very little progress over the weekend. Too hard between wanting to check on things and not knowing if the event was happening. I cut about 50 of the required 200 or so leaves. Anything more complicated than turning a hand crank machine was off limits. My brain was not in that space.
I did "finish" my 1940's dress for the wedding. Our anniversary was on Monday and I decided it was a good reason to finish the dress as any. I had to hem (hello rolled hem foot!), sew the lining down and put in a zipper. I was putting in the zipper 10 mi Utes (yay autocorrect!) before it was time to leave. No make up for me. Or pictures. But dinner was lovely, even if it left me desperate to get out of that corset. And I was checking phones constantly.
But the scary part is over. And I have to double down to get things done.
