Wedding Dress

In chatting my with darling mother, who keeps pressing me for details on my current project, I realized she's no clue on what my sewing entails.

My current project is my sister's wedding dress.

And I she keeps wanting details that I can't easily describe.

So. Picture. Am breaking my silence on this project. But no sketches or complete gowns until after the wedding.

First, a leaf. I bought a die cutter to make lots and lots of these. This is just my test fabric however.

This is what Trooper thought of my picture taking.

And next, Fabric. The sheer. Silk gauze, 3 mm.

AAAAAAAnd, fabric 2. Silk crepe de chine, 16 mm. With the sheer thrown in to get an idea. She wants a cream/ecru fabric, and this is certainly it. Almost a bit of blush to it in the right light. The sheer is bright white - will see how that works but it is soooo light weight it may not matter. And the it will have the crepe shown through.

And last, cut fabric. The muslin (test run) in horrible zig zags with the sheer overlay.

This weekend I will cut the crepe and assemble the bodice. I'll be happy if I get to the finishing steps.
