After about a 6 month rest I tackled the cutting. A 1/4 inch, cut off 96 times. Foreeeeever it took.
After that, sewing the white sides. And ironing. But next, layout. The fun part.
In figuring out the distances for each piece, my math taught me something. I had assumed the start of the first strip was at the center. Instead it it was over 1 inch off center. I had offset the strips to have two strips at top dead center, vs one, to ensure the a smooth curved rather than a step function. That no strip is centered makes sense.
I measured the strips down to 1/16th of an inches. It may not be so exact but in striving for precision it can make it look good.
Got it half way constructed over the weekend. Will post photos once done.
