Pivot Blue

So the Edwardian gown did not end up happening, at least for the immediate future. Life happens. And probably some seam ripping to turn a bag lining into a flat lining. Soooo.....that means new project. A space dress. For Neil Degrasse Tyson's lecture next month. Which I am totally squeeing over.

Enter Stage Left blue floral fabric from the stash. Very nebulous. Bought pre-Bug for a blouse, only to realize that silk anything and infants don't mix. Have just under 3 yards, so will have to color block to make it stretch. Spent FOREVER to find the right pattern, and am pretty happy with it. The solid blue is silk charmeuse that was the closest I could match. Both are Stonemountain and Daughter purchases. Nothing like feeling the fabric in your hands.

The body of the dress will the the print, with the sash and shoulder point in the solid blue. Am debating if I should apply some sequins to the shoulder to add some sparkle.
